dance anywhere® goes to work

What makes any work day better? Dancing of course! These workplaces took a break and joined the world in celebration of dance anywhere® 2014.

San Francisco General Hospital  Doulas

San Francisco, CA, USA.

Doulas and Doula Trainees from the San Francisco General Hospital danced  To “Happy” by Pharell Williams at the Homeless Prenatal Program center in San Francisco, CA. KQED Television showed up to film this joyous moment and joined the celebration.  Said one trainee, “We’re joining the world to celebrate this wonderful feeling of being alive!”

Nick Ashby at Bright Antenna Records

Emeryville, CA, USA

Inspired by a lyric video for the label’s band, Middle Class Rut, Nick Ashby Executive Assistant at Bright Antenna Records, performed a lunch-time dance workout to celebrate dance anywhere® 2014. He said performing for dance anywhere® at work was “awkward but worth it!”

Seattle Arts and Urban Planning Interactive

Seattle, WA, USA.

To celebrate dance anywhere® 2014, employees at Seattle Arts and Urban Planning organized an open dance improvisation at Golden Gardens Beach in Ballard, Seattle. The dancers performed in the sand and grassy areas on an unusually sunny Washington day. Seattle Arts & Urban Planning Interactive was excited to participate in dance anywhere® because they perceive that “dissolving the barrier between performance art and practice art is important to free our society’s fear of movement and connection”.

Peter Cheng

San Francisco, CA, USA.

Dressed in a suit and tie, Peter Cheng took a break from his busy workday in the financial district to dance anywhere®. Cheng says that he decided to participate because dance is a huge part of his life but not many people know it, since he works full time. “I love that worldwide, people celebrate movement in any way, shape or form for dance anywhere®. It’s such a beautiful way to come together.”
