Celebrating global diasporic dance and local\/ global identity, Push Dance Co. of San Francisco will perform at the Museum of the African Diaspora in downtown San Francisco for dance anywhere\u00ae<\/span> 2014. Artistic Director Raissa Simpson is known for her “edgy, sleek and sexy” choreography that lures the audience with “emotional and kinetic changes”. Raissa, who identifies as African American\/ Filipino hopes to reveal diverse perspectives in her choreography.<\/p>\n

Her work at MoAD will focus on the toxic cleanup at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard and will explore themes associated with African diaspora. The audience will be invited to view the work from the street while the dancers perform outside and on the museum staircase.<\/p>\n
