dance anywhere® is a San Francisco based annual, participatory, public art project created by artist Beth Fein in 2005. This photo exhibit is a sampling selected from the hundreds of photographs from the first 10 years.

dance anywhere® asks the question:  what if the world stopped to dance? the answer has come form from 7 continents, over 65 countries and more than 650 cities.

At the opening, March 10th from 5:30 – 8 pm only, there will be additional videos and digital slideshow dance anywhere® videos from around the world.

Dancers, students, seniors, artists, business people and dreamers alike step out of their daily routine and unleash their inner dancer in museums, parks, sidewalks, office buildings, schools anywhere their dancing bodies will fit. Every year thousands of people from San Francisco to Istanbul, Buenos Aires, Estonia, and around the world participate.

On March 27, 2015, dance anywhere® will celebrate the 10th anniversary and invites you to join in: as dancers come together with family members, friends, colleagues or strangers on the street. Wherever you are, at work, at the post office, on Muni or BART, walking in the park or just looking at the view, you are encouraged to stop and dance. The magic happens because anyone, anywhere in the world can jump in and be a part of dance anywhere® – a combination public art and community activism.

Thank you to Zellerbach Family Foundation and our donors for your support!
