KUNST-STOFF at the SFMOMA

The San Francisco-based contemporary dance company KUNST-STOFF, under the artistic direction of Yannis Adoniou, will be performing at the SFMOMA for dance anywhere on March 22nd, 2013.

KUNST-STOFF, which literally translates from German to “art-things,” has been bringing dance experiences to the Bay Area for more than a decade. As described on the company’s website,

“[KUNST-STOFF is dedicated] to creating conceptually driven work that challenges and expands the boundaries of our perception. With themes that reflect upon and respond to contemporary society, KUNST-STOFF’s work reaches across cultural and social boundaries in search of that which resonates on a universal level.

KUNST-STOFF is known for its unusual and highly visual theatrical dance works, which merge different art forms, often creating unexpected collisions and provocative beauty. While versed in the realm of established dance techniques, the company’s work steps outside of the ‘known’ with a distinctive movement style that extends the body beyond codified limits.”

We cannot wait to see what Yannis and members of KUNST-STOFF create in the public space of a museum this year.
