Kara Davis on dance anywhere®

Kara Davis, the co-founder of the San Francisco based dance group, project agora, has brought her captivating choreography to dance anywhere® since 2008, where she performed with Nol Simones at the SFMOMA. Kara and project agora will again be dancing anywhere on March 18, 2011.

Rather than drawing audiences to theater spaces and other performing venues, Dance Anywhere is an amazing event that instead brings dance directly to the people in all sorts of spaces. Those who wouldn’t normally seek out dance in their communities are thus exposed to this field of artistic expression publicly and thus immediately. Inevitably this draws new audiences and beckons people to more deeply consider the common vehicle that drives us all through life: the human body! Kara Davis

project agora draws its inspiration from its Greek name: “Agora” (a public forum; a place designated specifically for open debate and the exchange of ideas). This concept, plus Kara’s fluid and riveting choreography resonates with the spirit of Dance Anywhere.
